a light hearted and positive post

for a change.

I passed my GTT (glucose tolerance test) with "flying colors" according to cute dr f. hurray!

::: huge sigh of relief ::: that test was truly awful. after consuming that horrid drink (literally in between audible gags) I asked the nice blood lady if I could go get a paper. "no! you sit yourself right down and don't get up for the next hour." huh? "you're not leaving this office. if you move around you risk burning off all the sugar." so I sat and sat and sat, while thumbing though an early fall issue of cosmo. it's june.

as I watched the hands on the clock barely move the nausea set in. I needed fresh air. water. the crowded waiting room was hot. the woman screaming to her buddy in spanish for a half hour ("she's sitting right next to you!") certainly didn't help. but I did it. and I managed not to puke. well done p!

all vomit talk aside, little one's "nursery prints" arrived. I'll frame them up and hang them over the changing table. love em!

Well done you!! I'm dreading that test as I HATE those drinks too. I've never been able to tolerate fizzy drinks and the drink they give you here - Lucozade if fizzy sweet muck. Bleuch!

The prints are v cute!

Ugh, wasn't that drink aweful? I brought my ipod and listened to an episode of pregtastic, which always seems to pass the time quickly.

Congrats on passing! The prints are adorable, are they from etsy?

The test sounds dreadful. Great news that it went so well. And the baby prints are a fun distraction from the ickiness of the test!

Well done for keeping your stomach contents in place. I have only watched others partake of that drink, and heard people speak of its miseries. That is enough for me. I am convinced of the hideousness and don't relish ever having to go there myself.

But these days I never say never. Who knows?

Love the prints. Sorry your surgeon DH sounds like such a surgeon!! They are great when you need an operation, but sometimes they are not so great when you need a human being. It can be frustrating, I am sure. But on the brighter side, congratulations on impending motherhood. :-)

I find out whether I flunked mine or not tomorrow, so TONIGHT I'm eating ice cream like it's going out of fashion. Just in case..
